Privacy Policy
Updated: 19 October 2026 · ZoroSoft
ZoroSoft is responsible for WiFi Doctor. This policy explains the data used by the app and its services. No WiFi Doctor account is required. The contact email below accepts support, privacy and data-rights requests.
Network data & purpose
The app reads available Wi-Fi names (SSID), access-point identifiers (BSSID), signal, channels, security, IP addresses, routes, DNS, VPN/proxy state and connection events to diagnose connectivity. LAN discovery can read device names, addresses and advertised services. Tests use the targets or URLs you enter and record results. Realtime monitoring reads traffic counters, link statistics and battery temperature; it does not capture your browsing content. These diagnostic histories are stored on your device, not automatically uploaded as full reports to ZoroSoft.
Permissions & monitoring
Location and Nearby devices permissions enable Wi-Fi discovery and supported local-network tools. The app does not request GPS coordinates; country and city are estimated from the public IP. Once permitted, passive network observation keeps a 15-minute local buffer and stops on screen-off or after 15 minutes away. Realtime monitoring keeps up to 30 minutes in memory and pauses after two minutes away or screen-off. Starting another measurement or scanning tool stops it immediately. Its data resets after an hour away or a full restart. You can pause it and revoke permissions in system settings.
Network requests & service providers
Online features use network service providers, including Cloudflare, for IP and approximate-location lookups and Speedtest. These providers receive your public IP address and request metadata. Servers contacted during tests receive the network traffic needed for those tests. Upload tests send generated test data, not your personal files. Service providers may process technical logs under their own privacy and retention policies.
Crash reports
Release versions use Google Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes and app freezes. It processes crash traces, app, device and OS details and installation identifiers. Diagnostic stage and screen codes may be attached. We do not intentionally attach Wi-Fi passwords, network names or complete diagnostic reports. Crash data is handled under Firebase's retention policy, separately from diagnostic history stored on your device.
Usage statistics
WiFi Doctor uses Google Analytics for Firebase to improve the app. It automatically records app sessions, feature use, button actions, feedback opens and submissions, sharing and copying actions, summarized test outcomes, Speedtest speed ranges and service error counts, using a pseudonymous installation identifier. Google also processes basic app/device information and approximate location. We do not add feedback contents, Wi-Fi names, passwords, IP addresses, website URLs or full diagnostic reports to these events. Data already sent is subject to the provider's retention settings.
Advertising services
WiFi Doctor includes Google AdMob and its consent service. This version does not display banner ads. These services may process IP addresses, device or advertising identifiers, consent choices and diagnostic information. Where required, the Google consent form offers advertising choices, which can be revisited in Settings when available. Analytics collection is separate from advertising choices.
Feedback & support
When you send feedback, ZoroSoft receives your message, selected feature, submission identifier and time, app version and language, and device model and Android information. Our server also records the sender's IP address and approximate country to investigate problems and prevent spam. These records do not include a hardware serial number or IMEI. Do not include passwords or other sensitive information. Feedback is saved on your device for delivery and retried in a later session if delivery fails. The confirmation screen acknowledges that your feedback was saved; it does not guarantee immediate server delivery. Server feedback and IP logs are retained for support and abuse prevention and reviewed for deletion when no longer needed; they are not automatically erased when you clear the app. You may request deletion through the contact below.
Passwords, exports & AI
A Wi-Fi password entered for connection troubleshooting is used for connection attempts and kept in session memory, not saved in diagnostic history or included in AI exports. Saving a network to your device uses system controls. Export, copy and Ask AI only share when you choose those actions. Shared data can include network names, addresses, targets and measurements; inspect it first. ChatGPT, Claude or another receiving app handles submitted content under its own policy. WiFi Doctor does not read AI replies.
Local storage & deletion
Settings lets you keep 10–100 diagnostic reports and clear results or website history. Speedtest keeps up to 20 results; website history keeps up to 100 entries and the last input. LAN history expires after 30 minutes and provider/IP cache after 30 days, pruned when used. App-private data is excluded from Android backup. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes local app data, but not copies you exported or sent to other services. Service-side retention is separate; clearing the app does not erase provider logs or Crashlytics reports.
Security & your choices
Private app storage protects saved records through the device's access controls. Metadata services and crash reporting use HTTPS; diagnostic HTTP, DNS, ping and LAN protocols may be unencrypted by design. Do not enter secret tokens in test URLs or share reports you consider sensitive. External providers may process data outside your country. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of data we can identify, or to exercise other rights under applicable law. We will explain any limits, including data held only on your device or by another provider.
Contact & policy changes
For privacy questions or concerns about data relating to a child, contact ZoroSoft below. Do not include Wi-Fi passwords in support messages. Material changes to data use will be disclosed in the app, with consent requested where required. The update date identifies this policy version. Provider policies apply separately when you use their services.
